Universally acknowledged as one of the greatest artists in the field of comic books, Alex Ross has revolutionised the industry and transcended the newsstand origins of his profession. Just as Andy Warhol elevated soup can labels into multi-million dollar artworks, Alex has elevated the art of the comic book, and his partnership with brands such as Marvel has taken him into the illustration stratosphere. Built on a proven library of more than 8,000 characters, Marvel have become one of the world’s most successful and best known entertainment brands. They have created many of the great popular cultural icons of our time such as Spiderman, Captain America and the Black Panther, alongside more unlikely heroes such as Groot or Rocket Raccoon. Marvel started life as a group of imprints mainly known as Timely Comics. In 1961, they launched The Fantastic Four and other superhero titles created by the great Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and many others, and the Marvel name, which had been used over the years, was solidified as the company's primary, now iconic, brand.

Alex is one of the most revered comic book artists of our time with hundreds of thousands of devoted fans, and his unique images have become highly sought after as stand-alone works of art.

Since 1994 he has won countless prestigious accolades for his prolific artistic contribution to contemporary culture, including 12 Eisner awards and eight Harvey awards.
